He completed his schooling in Gurukul, Kurukshetra. His senior secondary education was conducted in the Jat Senior Secondary school, Kaithal, Haryana. Manoj acquired his graduation degree in Bachelor of sports (B.P.E), followed by L.L.B from Doon College, Dehradun.
He inculcated a keen desire in Sports and even participated in several National Level Sports Tournament. As an admirer of Kabaddi since childhood, his passion for this sport was derived from his father, who was also a Kabaddi player, serving numerous competitions at different levels. His father was a strong believer in offering a staunch platform and opportunity for the upcoming players, especially from the rural areas.
Ensuring the commencement of his father’s dreams, Star Kabaddi League was originated, offering various opportunities to young talents to showcase their abilities at a wide-ranging audience.
